PSG arrange showdown with Chelsea after dominating Real Madrid

Paris St Germain, the European champions, delivered a dominant performance to advance into the final of the Club World Cup by defeating Real Madrid 4-0.

In a one-sided semi-final in New York on Wednesday, Fabian Ruiz scored twice and Ousmane Dembele added a goal within the first 24 minutes, effectively securing the victory for the Champions League winners.

Real Madrid, the Spanish giants, could not keep up with PSG's relentless attacks, culminating in Goncalo Ramos scoring a fourth goal late in the game at the MetLife Stadium.

PSG, who will face Chelsea in the final on Sunday, demonstrated their superiority on the field despite the scorching 32C temperature during the match.

Under the leadership of Luis Enrique, PSG fielded a team with 10 players from the starting lineup of the Champions League final triumph over Inter Milan, with Dembele featuring in the tournament for the first time.

The determination of PSG to replicate their previous success was evident as they dominated the match against Real Madrid, who were missing Trent Alexander-Arnold due to injury.

Real Madrid attempted to start fast, with Aurelien Tchouameni having a shot deflected wide early on, but PSG quickly found their rhythm.

PSG took the lead within six minutes, with Kvaratskhelia and Courtois making crucial interventions before Ruiz scored the opening goal.

Dembele extended the lead three minutes later, capitalizing on a mistake by Rudiger to beat Courtois with a precise finish.

Despite their efforts, Real Madrid could not mount a comeback, and PSG increased their lead to 3-0 after 24 minutes with Ruiz's second goal of the match.

PSG had opportunities to add more goals before halftime, but Real Madrid's defense held firm, denying further chances from Dembele and Kvaratskhelia.

Real Madrid thought they had scored after the break with a goal from Doue, but it was ruled offside.

As the second half progressed, Real Madrid tried to push forward, but PSG's solid defense thwarted their efforts, and Mbappe missed a chance to score against his former team.

In the final minutes of the game, substitute Ramos sealed the victory for PSG by scoring the fourth goal from a quick counter-attack, following a lay-off from Barcola.
